Terms of Service

Please read the below carefully before you sign up. Thank you.

1. The Service

1.1. These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases of BJJ tuition, coaching, memberships, block bookings, or single classes (the "Service") provided by KODAMA BJJ ("we", "us", "our").
1.2. By purchasing the Service, you ("the Customer", "the Member") agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Statutory 14-Day Cooling-Off Period & Cancellations

2.1. In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations, if you purchase a membership or class pack online, you have a statutory right to cancel your purchase within 14 days from the day after the contract is formed (the "Cooling-Off Period").
2.2. If you request to begin attending classes during the 14-day Cooling-Off Period, you acknowledge that you waive the right to a refund.
2.3. Once the 14-day Cooling-Off Period has expired, no refunds will be issued for change of mind, lack of attendance, or failure to utilise the booked Service.

3. Expiry and Non-Attendance

3.1. All class packages, block bookings, and single-session passes must be utilised within 30 days from the date of purchase. Any sessions not used within this timeframe will automatically expire and become null and void. No extensions or refunds will be granted for unused sessions.
3.2. It is the responsibility of the Customer to book and attend classes. Failure to attend does not entitle the Customer to a refund, credit, or extension.

4. Health, Safety, and Risk Assumption

4.1. The Customer acknowledges that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a full-contact combat sport involving physical exertion, submission locks, and takedowns, which carry inherent risks of physical injury.
4.2. You certify that you are physically fit to participate and have disclosed any pre-existing medical conditions to the head instructor via onboarding prior to stepping onto the mats.
4.3. Hygiene & Safety: Members must maintain short, trimmed nails, wear clean training gear (Gi or No-Gi attire without open pockets/zips), and use appropriate footwear (e.g., sandals/flip-flops) when off the mat area. Anyone showing signs of contagious skin conditions (e.g., ringworm, staph) will be barred from training immediately.

5. Exceptional Circumstances & Pauses

5.1. While memberships are non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off window, we may, at our absolute discretion, consider pausing a membership or extending a deadline in some completely exceptional circumstances.

6. Governing Law

6.1. These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
